Alexander College is a higher educational institute that provides academic preparation and university courses for both international and domestic students wishing to begin an academic career.

In addition to offering courses that apply to University Transfer, Alexander College also has the ability to award an Associate of Arts Degree and an Associate of Science Degree. Upon successful completion of either two-year degree, students are eligible to apply for a three-year Post-Graduation work permit. Students wishing to continue their studies can transfer their credits to the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria as well as many other institutions.

In cooperation with Thompson Rivers University, Alexander College offers a Pre-Masters Degree Program which prepares students to enter the MBA program at TRU.

We are currently looking for sessional Economics Instructors for our 14-week Winter semester for a number of first and second year courses:

ECON 103 (Microeconomics)
ECON 105 (Marcoeconomics)
ECON 210 (Money and Banking)
ECON 260 (Environmental Economics)
ECON 280 (Intro to Labor Economics)
ECON 290 (Canadian Microeconomics Policy)
ECON 291 (Canadian Macroeconomics Policy)
ECON 295 (Managerial Economics)

These courses are offered at both our Burnaby and Vancouver campuses. Classes run from January 9 – April 17, 2012.

Qualifications for new Economics Instructors include:

• Minimum of a Masters Degree in Economics or a related field
• Experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC post secondary Institution
• Demonstrated success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of learning outcomes an asset
• Native English speaker proficiency is preferred
